Peru & Machu Picchu
The Terraces of Moray are natural depressions where Inca and Pre-Inca people conducted agricultural experiments. They were primarily concerned with developing strains of corn that would grow at high altitude. By planting at the bottom and moving strong specimens up a level at a time, they succeeded in hybridizing species that could support their large population. In the bottom of the depression you can see a circle of people participating in a cleansing ceremony.
