Peru & Machu Picchu
We started the day of our 19th anniversary by climbing to Runcurucay Pass with a backdrop of Mt. Pumasillo (Puma's Claw, 19,680'). Thank goodness for beige hiking clothes that don't show the dirt and sweat. The cooks delivered a bowl of hot water and a cup of coca tea to each tent every morning at 6:30am, and again before dinner. But beyond that, the only water along the trail is glacier melt!
