Oat Hill Mine Trail

Cobb mountain lupine (Lupinus sericatus) is a rare 1B plant with dark purple spikes of flowers. It is threatened by geothermal development, habitat alteration, logging, road maintenance, road widening, and herbicides. But it will colonize disturbed sites. It has unusual silvery-glossy leaves that form chubby pinwheels in a dense, 20 x 36 compact mound. It attracts bees and butterflies and is deer resistant, too!
