Laguna de Santa Rosa
Bristly Ox Tongue looks like a dandelion until you notice the leaves. The big basal leaves have blisterlike swellings covered with coarse, barbed and bristly hairs. It large bracts cupping the yellow flower that are the defining feature of the genus Helminthotheca, to which P. echioides may soon be assigned. It is an invasive weed in the Aster Family.
