Galapagos Mockingbird (Nesomimus parvulus) The Galapagos Mockingbirds are very curious and fearless. On each island they have entirely different sounds because they mock what is in their surroundings. The sassy birds have evolved into 4 separate species on the islands, although they are all very similar. This mockingbird (Nesomimus parvulus) often watches centipedes hunting in rock cracks and steals a cricket right out of the centipede's grasp. Genovesa Island.
