Greater Frigatebird, Male The greenish iridescence shows that this is a Greater Frigatebird. These birds are often called Man O' War Birds because they often harass smaller sea birds for their catch. They don't have enough preening oil to waterproof their feathers, so they never willingly land on the water. No wonder they pirate food from other birds! Frigatebirds soar effortlessly and often dive to catch flying fish or falling fish dropped by hassled Boobies. North Seymour Island.
