Spotted Sharp-nosed Puffer (Canthigaster punctatissima) Puffer Fish were everywhere; big, little, spotted, striped. This is probably the Spotted Sharp-nosed Puffer (Canthigaster punctatissima). When threatened most puffers inflate themselves with a large amount of water. This raises the spines on its skin and prevents fish from swallowing them. Many puffers also are toxic.
