Blue Sea Star (Phataria unifascialis) The dramatic Blue Sea Star (Phataria unifascialis) is found in the Eastern Pacific; Sea of Cortez to Peru and the Galapagos on rocky shores to 165'. The top surface of the Blue Sea Star can be blue, green or tan with dark pebbled lines, but the underside is said to be orange. It is an algae feeder and moved quite quickly on its tube feet.
