Cushion Sea Stars, Pentaceraster That is a Panamic Cushion Sea Star on the left, and a different Pentaceraster Cushion Sea Star on the right. These echinoderms feed on micro-fauna in the sand or on the rocks, ocean floor algae, seagrass and other echinoderms. They are usually found on sandy bottoms from shallow to 600' depth. They are in the Family Oreasteridae. The sea floor here was carpeted with Sea Stars. Dive/snorkel trip to Floreana.
