A Rare Club Moss (Lycopodium cernuum) Lycopodium cernuum is a rare Club Moss that grows to 6'. The spores were once used in fireworks (a high oil content made them burn readily) and recently to dust condoms. They are creeping plants with tiny leaves arranged spirally around the stem. The leaves at the shoot tips are tightly grouped into cones (strobili) forming  sporophylls that bear spores. Los Gemelos, Santa Cruz Island.
