Costa Rica
The first place we took a hike in the rainforest was at Braulio Carillo National Park. The high rainforest here gets 26 feet of rain every year, so there are hundreds of waterfalls. This Cow's Tongue leaf is named for its shape and raspy texture. The veins are spectacular, and the plant is edible. We found it along the Botarama Trail near the road. We were really glad we brought our hiking clothes and rain ponchos.
