Bayon Doorway w/ God-King Face
The God-King Jayavarman 7th was called the Compassionate Buddha because he stopped to help mankind just as he was about to achieve Buddha-hood. The Bayon is a 3 story temple built as a residence for high priests 700 years ago. The next king, Jayavaraman 8th, was a Hindu - who removed many of the Buddha images throughout the temple.
