Dance of the 16 Fairies

The Dance of the 16 Fairies brings total happiness. The dancers wear a sword and elaborate woolen clothes: long black skirt, yellow shirt, folded brown coat, felt boots, and a circular headdress. This is the last dance of the 5 day Paro Tsechu. It commemorates the opening of the pilgrimage route to Mount Tsari in Tibet that is guarded by the frog deity.
