BEP Mushrooms

Jellied Bird's Nest Fungus (Nidula candida) is most often found in groups on dead twigs and rotting wood. They are very small, easily overlooked, but common. Look carefully into the cup and you may find the tiny "eggs" that hold the spores and are waiting for a drop of rain to splash them out onto the ground. In the winter or early spring you may even find some young specimens that are fuzzy white stumps with a shaggy brown cover, but no cup yet.
