Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Tall Flatsedge is native to the Western US, but is considered an invasive anyway. Sedge stems are triangular in cross-section, can grow to 3' tall and resemble papyrus. Nutsedge usually reproduces by underground tubers attached to underground stems, but this one does not. (Remember: Sedges have edges, and rushes are round. But grasses have nodes from their tips to the ground.)
