Bohemia Ecological Preserve

The Thimble Morel looks like a thimble stuck on a finger. It appears in riparian areas in the spring. The fruiting structure is only loosely attached to the stalk at the very top. The aski on the outer surface of the wrinkled cap contain the spores, and are never slimy like a Stinkhorn. There is no volva at the base, and the stem has transverse ribs.
