Bohemia Ecological Preserve

A young Blewit has a purple-blue cap, gills and stem. The cap fades to brown with age. The flavor of the Blewit changes depending on the kind of tree it grows under. The Blewit is a predator - it sends out tiny hyphae that penetrate bacteria colonies and kill them, sucking up their nutrients! The word Blewit is an Old English contraction for "blue hat."
