Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Mossy Pygmyweed starts out as a minute green succulent, and turns bright red as it ages. Even more minute flowers grow between the red leaves. It is a non-native annual that grows on bare, often compacted, sandy or gravelly ground. It is often found on rutted tracks, paths and other areas where the ground is kept open by disturbance. It cannot withstand competition, so is probably not invasive. Stonecrop Family.
