Bohemia Ecological Preserve

The Serpentine Spring Beauty flower has five lobed petals in shades of pink, white, or pink-streaked white. The leaves and stems are unusual. They are hairless, waxy and vary in color from pinkish, grayish, or brownish - but seldom green. The thick leaves near the base are linear in shape and fingerlike - and crescent to disc-shaped farther up the stem. This plant may be considered a protected species.
