Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Sweat Bees have long antennae and a triangular face. Sweat Bees are a native ground-nesting bee. They are found throughout the US, all year long in the warmer places. They feed on honey and gather pollen (for their larvae) from a wide variety of plants including this tattered Mariposa Lily (Calochortus luteus). Over 70% of flowering plants depend on the services of pollinators to be able to reproduce.
