Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Diogenes' Lantern flowers typically grow in pairs. The sepals at the top of the nodding flower are pointed. The petals are rounded with a ruffled edge, and they tend to develop brown dots as they age. The inside of the petals is waxy and coated in small hairs. The fruit is a winged capsule. It is endemic to northern California, where it grows north of the San Francisco Bay Area. Lily Family.
