Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Bluedicks have 6 fertile white stamens in the center of each flower. Each flower has a narrow "waist" rather than the "bell" shape of some other Brodiaeas. It blooms earlier than the very similar Ookaw that blooms a little later (although not here). Corms are eaten by animals such as black bears, mule deer, non-native wild pigs, rabbits, and pocket gophers. Formerly in the Lily Family, now in the Asparagus Family, Brodiaea Sub-family.
