Bohemia Ecological Preserve

California Dodder is a parasite that sends orange twining stems around its host plant to steal food. The knobby sections attach themselves with root-like structures. Dodder has leaves and flowers, but they are so small that a hand lens is needed to see them. Most of the many species are native and on the noxious weed list. It is classified in its own family, or in the Morning-glory Family.
