Pineappleweed is a plant commonly found in disturbed, roadside fields around the entire Pacific Northwest. An easy way to identify this weedy species is to crush the leaves or flower heads and smell them. Most people notice a pleasant pineapple smell. Chewing on these herbs is supposed to be good for suppressing the urge to smoke as well as making you feel sleepy. Aster Family, native to North America.
