Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Sneezeweed and many other flowers are pollinated by Hoverflies while they are eating their nectar and pollen lunch. The maggots of some Hoverflies provide biological control of some pests such as aphids and leafhoppers. Sneezeweed flowerheads are a ball of disc-flowers that are yellow when young and darken with age. Most flowerheads have some yellow ray-flowers at the bottom.
