Bohemia Ecological Preserve

This is most likely Little Tarweed. Notice the stalked glands on the phyllaries dripping exudate. It could be one of several species of Madia found by botanists at Bohemia (Madia anomala, M. exigua, M. elegans spp. elegans or M. gracilis). To make a positive ID a botanist needs to examine the fruits of both the ray-flower and the disk-flower to see if they have bristles or plumes on the top or not. This is way beyond my pay grade!
