Bohemia Ecological Preserve

Rebecca is showing Margaret how to use a weed wrench to remove young Douglas Firs that would compete with the mature Oaks. While Doug Firs are native plants, they spread so easily that they need to be controlled in many situations. The weed wrench is also useful for removing invasive weeds such as French Broom. Without this kind of management, many native plants can't thrive and meadows tend to disappear.
